Girls Varsity Cross Country, Varsity Cross Country · Girls’ Varsity Cross Country Ranked #8 in Colorado

The Kodiak girls’ cross country team is young this year, but don’t let that fool you. Riding on the success of last year’s state qualifying team, which included top runners, Sarah W. ’17, Ivy M. ’17 and Kate G. ’20, the Kodiaks now know what it takes to compete at the top level.  With the worthy reputation and leadership of returning runners, complemented with committed newcomers, this well-coached team is currently ranked #8 in the state in a preseason poll at MileSplit.  Check out the complete state rankings here:

Coach Jolly Burke, “I am excited by the early-season energy and enthusiasm of our young team this year.  As we continue to build fitness and gain racing experience at the high school level over the 5k distance, I am looking forward to seeing this year’s group build upon the success of last year’s team. Come October, I am confident that these girls will be ready to compete with the other teams in the Black Forest League and our Region to vie for a place at the State Meet again this year.”
