Teams traveled from all over Colorado to compete in Friday’s Cheyenne Mountain Stampede cross-country meet. The Kodiaks traveled a mile from school for the highly-anticipated preseason race held at the Norris Penrose Event Center. It was the first time the Kodiaks have competed in this event, and according to the results it was well worth it, setting the stage for the State meet on Oct. 26th at the same site.
Seniors Kate G. (2nd place) and Clay R. (6th place) both finished in the Top 10 for the 2A race with times of 21.35 and 19.33 for the 5K race. Orlando M. ’22 finished in 20th place with an impressive 20.50 time. Senior Hina S. finished in 25th place after running a strong race while Nathan G. ’23 and Aaron Y. ’21 both ran solid races. The Kodiaks are back in action on Saturday, September 7, when they return to the Liberty Bell Invite at Heritage High School in Littleton.
