Multiple Teams · Cohesiveness: Secret Ingredient for Kodiaks

A long weekend offered opportunities for team bonding before the Fall sports season officially kick-offs this week.  Saturday morning began with an entourage of support for senior Kate G. as she completed the challenging Air Force Academy Fitness Test as part of her college application process.  As to be expected, Kate rocked it finishing with a 6:33 mile run after maxing out on other grueling tests — pull-ups, sit ups, pushups, basketball throw, and the shuttle run. “Having my teammates here, cheering me on throughout the test, really made a difference. I was much more motivated and appreciated their support,” added Kate.

Afterwards a group of girls led the charge with painting the weight room in Tutt Field House, adding their own touch to the “new” space.  Stay tuned for more updates on the weight room and pre-school workout options for all students.

The evening concluded with the volleyball team attending a game at Colorado College where they watched former Kodiak, Laney Swan, in action as the Tigers defeated the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Afterwards the team enjoyed dinner and a sleepover where they set goals for the upcoming season.  Come see the girls in action for their season kick off against Dolores Huerta on Thursday night, starting at 5:00 p.m. with JV followed by the Varsity match.  Go Kodiaks!
