Kodiaks News · New Spirit Club Preps for Homecoming Weekend

The new Spirit Club is primed to make this a banner year for CSS school spirit and pride through promoting and supporting Kodiak Athletics.  Under the leadership of Sarina M. ’20 and Alair F. ’21, the group’s goals include marketing events, incentivizing attendance at games, coordinating pep rallies, and supporting the CSS Booster Club in its mission.

“It would be great to see parents and students from all three divisions at CSS in attendance at this week’s Homecoming events!,” exclaimed Sarina M. “We are separate divisions but one school — that’s what we are messaging.”

Homecoming week began with the Kodiaks XC team who had a respectful showing at the Cougar Classic at Monument Valley Park.  Senior Kate G. ’20 finished second overall with another strong finish.  The boys’ tennis team lost a heartbreaker against Sand Creek 3-4 in a match that could have gone either way.  The three victories came from #3 singles player Tristan T. ’23, #3 doubles team of Sam J. ’20 and Owen G. ‘ 21, and #4 doubles team of Matt P. ’20 and Aidan D. ’21.

The girls’ volleyball team faces off with Simla starting at 11:00 a.m. (JV) followed by the Varsity game on Saturday at Tutt Field House.  Immediately following the games, the Booster Club is sponsoring a tailgate with free hot dogs and burgers on Boddington Field at 1:00 p.m. before the Kodiaks boys’ soccer game.  They host Rye for an important Tri-Peaks League matchup at 2:00 p.m. Come out and support your Kodiaks and wear your blue!
