This week concludes the 2019 Landsharks Running Club cross-country season with the third and final meet on Sunday, October 6, at 3:00 p.m. All meets are held at the Bear Creek Regional Park on the grass. CSS enrolled 35 runners in grades K-6 for this fall season, a record in regards to participation. Head Coach Kristin Penn effectively split her time between the MS cross-country team and Landsharks with the help of assistant coaches and parents Merrisue Baldwin, David Benson, Ellen Crow, Priscilla Medina, and Lynn Shepherd. Middle school students Elliot P., Oliver P., and Hudson S. also volunteered their time this season assisting as race pacers.
The focus of Landsharks is on having fun, competing against individual abilities, improving personal skills, being an encouraging teammate, making new friends, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. If your child missed out on the opportunity to participate this fall, there will be a spring season that is designed around track running. Be on the lookout for more information regarding signups in April.
