Varsity Cross Country · Black Forest League Championship Returns to CSS

  Place Points
The Colorado Springs School 1st 12

In one of the final races of her senior season, Kodiak Kate G. ran to a well-earned course PR to clinch her third-consecutive Black Forest League individual title. Just behind her, seniors Autumn C. (4th place) and Kylie C. (7th place) ran to all-league finishes in their first cross country season. Their efforts solidified a team win for the Kodiaks for the first time since the Kodiaks brought home the league trophy in 2015. In winning the Black Forest League title, the Kodiak harriers upset the Peyton team ranked #3 in the state for 2A Girls. Junior Brooke A. also earned all-league honors by finishing in 9th place in the five-kilometer race.

On the boys’ side, Clay R. led the Kodiaks with a 3rd place finish followed closely by Orlando M. in 4th place. Clay, Orlando, and the rest of the boys’ team are looking to carry this momentum into the Regional meet on October 17 where the team is hoping to earn the first-ever team qualification to the State Meet for CSS boys.

Come cheer on the Kodiaks as they pave their way to the State Meet at our Regional competition at Monument Valley Park on October 17.
