In a competitive 2A field at Monument Valley Park, the Kodiaks put their best selves on the line in hopes of qualifying for the State Cross Country Championships. The girls were up first, competing with a team seven runners strong. Senior Kate G. led the Kodiaks with a strong 3rd place finish in the regional field, followed by Seniors Autumn C. and Kylie C. in 13th and 15th place to round out the team scoring. The Kodiaks’ strong performances gave them a 3rd place finish, punching their ticket to the State Championships for the 4th consecutive year.

On the boys’ side, senior Clay R. led the Kodiaks in 18th place, followed closely by junior Orlando M. finishing in 20th place in the 5k race. Senior Kyle J. traded in his soccer cleats for running shoes and ran to a 34th place finish before heading to compete for the Kodiaks on the soccer field in this evening’s game. The scoring three boys averaged the fastest collective team average in school history at 19:53, earning them 7th place in the stacked boys’ field.
