The Kodiak boys’ tennis team has yet to be challenged after a 3-0 start this season. Most recent victories include a 5-2 win over Fountain Valley School on Saturday in head-to-head action, along with a 7-0 sweep of Canon City today. With the addition of singles players Philip W. ’22 from Germany, along with freshman Tristan T., CSS has settled into their lineup — a lineup that has more depth than years past. Senior Hayden H., who has played singles his entire career at CSS, rounds out the lineup at the #2 spot.

Singles:

#1 Phillip Weyrich
#2 Hayden Hocate
#3 Tristian Toy

Doubles:

#1 Luke Taylor/Ben McCurdy
#2 Owen Gaul/Alex Safayan
#3 Owen Walker/Estin Novak
#4 Matt Paschal/ Aidan Drummond

Head Coach Marc Knutila is pleased with the team’s progress at this point in the season and added that “we are heading in a good direction but must be prepared when the competition picks up. Each practice is about refinement and improvement, day by day.”
The boys are back in action on Thursday when they host Vanguard at Memorial Park at 4:00, followed by another home match on Friday against Pueblo Central. Go Kodiaks!
