CSS hosted Manitou Springs for their first home match of the year. After trailing 0-4 at the half, the Kodiaks picked up the pace in the latter half, scrapping for balls and attacking for possession. The highlight of the game was early in the second period when freshman Ellis N. scored his first career high school goal off a misplaced ball from the Mustangs back line.
“It was a great feeling to score that goal and I’ll always remember it,” commented Noel. “I was able to sprint up and retrieve the ball before the defender and put it away. It was a lot of fun making that shot.”
The 0-3 Kodiaks are back in action on Saturday at 2:00 against another Tri-Peaks League opponent, Rye, who is also looking for their first victory on the season. Please join us for a Homecoming Tailgate at 1:00 before the kick-off. Go Kodiaks!
