At Regional play on Friday, the #25 seed Kodiak volleyball team was all business when the girls stepped on the court, beating #12 seed Union Colony Prep School 3-0. The host team appeared stunned by the underdogs from CSS, never really finding their rhythm to compete against a rowdy and cohesive Kodiak team. Coach Kyong Lee commented that “it might have been our best match of the year overall. I was impressed with how intentional and focused we were, ready to play from the start.”
Unfortunately, the girls ran out of steam against their next opponent, #13 seed Holly, a hard-hitting group from the southeastern plains of Colorado. The Kodiaks lost 0-3 with scores of 19-25, 12-25, and 19-25, never able to close the gaps against the Wildcats, who were poised to win the Regional Title with a 3-2 win over Union Colony to close out the night. CSS concludes the season with a 15-10 record.
